68th Van Mahotsav concludes in Dima Hasao

Haflong, July 9: On the occasion of closing ceremony of 68th Van Mahotsav, the 43 Assam Rifles based at Haflong  in association with the Dima Hasao Forest West Division organized a mass tree plantation drive at Retzuol village, 17 km from Haflong recently.

In this connection a well-attended meeting was also held at the village community hall with H Thiek, Gaon Bura of Retzuol village in the chair, while Major S Yadav, DFO Rajib Borua, ACF Tuhin Langthasa, senior jourlist Anup Biswas and others attended as the guests of honour.

GB Thiek appreciated the Assam Rifles and the Forest Department for choosing his village Retzuol as a venue for the concluding ceremony of 68th Van Mahotsav. He assured that he would appeal to his villagers to take proper care of the plants which were planted that day. All the speakers detailed the importance of conservation and protection of trees, especially for the survival of human beings.
