Army apprehends one NDFB (S) militant

KOKRAJHAR, January 1: In a joint operation with Assam Police, the army camp located at Agomani under the aegis of Red Horns Division apprehended a hardcore NDFB (S) terrorist on December 30 at Chhagaliya near the Assam–West Bengal border in lower Assam.

Sources said the army had been keeping an eye on the movement of this militant. He was bbed when he was trying to escape out of Assam. The terrorist had been involved in terrorist and kidpping activities for long. This operation carried out by the army and the Assam Police have thwarted likely plans of NDFB (S) militants to escape to safe heavens due to ongoing army operations in Kokrajhar and Chirang district.

Army has carried out this operation based on information provided by NIA, which displays the increasing cooperation among Security Forces and Intelligence Agencies to root out terrorism from the north–eastern States and facilitate a peaceful environment for the people.
