DEMOW, Dec 20: A dhaba was gutted by fire recently in harani area near Demow. The dhaba belonged to Gokul Das, oil mafia, and the fire was caused due to the illegal oil which was stocked in the dhaba.
The roadside dhabas on NH-37 road are doing illegal business of oil and the police are not taking any steps in this regard, alleged the All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Demow Regiol Committee. In past too, due to stocking of illegal oil in dhabas fire accidents had taken place in the area. The All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Demow Regiol Committee blamed Dibrugarh Police and Sivasagar Police for this.
ATASU, Demow Regiol Committee has demanded the Sivasagar Police and Dibrugarh Police to catch those who are involved in the illegal oil business without delay or the organization would launch an agitation programme, stated a press release.
