Audit of electoral rolls by Election Commission in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, November 30: An audit team from Election Commission of India (ECI) led by the Under Secretary Binod Kumar visited Chirang district on Saturday and Sunday for taking audit of the electoral rolls of the 31-Sidli LAC and 33- Bijni, sources from the DC establishment informed.

Sources said during their visit, they checked and inspected the forms 6, 7, 8, 8a and 9 used for inclusion, correction, deletion and shifting of mes and for other purpose in the ongoing revision works of the Photo Electoral Rolls. They visited certain polling stations for taking stock of conditions and the duties being carried out by the AEROs and BLOs in their respective areas. As such, interacting with the voters in different polling stations, they expressed their satisfaction and termed it good going in every aspect.

So as to prepare error-free electoral rolls, they asked all the election officials of the district to be very sincere while entering, correcting, deleting, and disposing off the cases during the process. They also held meetings with the district and the Sub-Divisiol administration along with the EROs and AEROs to know the present position of the revision of the electoral rolls. The other two ECI officials of the team were Rajesh Kumar Singh and Raj Kumar.
