Awareness campaign on social uplift held at Kopati

TANGLA, September 23: An awareness campaign on social uplift was organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in association with Live Green, a ture based local NGO, at Bongaligaon near Kopati in Udalguri district recently .

The awareness meeting drew attention of more than 400 villagers of Kopati area, teachers and students. The organizers on the occasion held various competitions among the students on various themes like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao (BBBP), Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yoja, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yaja, Atal Pension Yoja, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yoja and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yoja (PMKVY), where resource persons like R Sapkota, Jayanta Kumar Das, Dr.Harischaran Das, secretary of Aranya Suraksha Samiti, Asom, Pranjal Borah, branch mager of UCO Bank, Mazbat branch, and Harendra Singh, Deputy Commandant of 23rd battalion of SSB, Lalpool camp, spoke on the topics and appealed to the villagers to follow the government welfare schemes for a better life.

A street play on Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan was also staged on the occasion to draw the attention of the villagers towards their duties and responsibilities. Cultural teams of Rangajuli Bahurangi Kristi Dal, Priyanka Group, Bodo folk and Rabha folk groups on the occasion enthralled the spectators with their theme-based performances.
