Barak Valley commissioner reviews development work

DHUBRI, Feb 20: Barak Valley Commissioner Dr Anwaruddin Choudhury visited Dhubri district to review and inspect the development works and concluded  his two-day visit on Tuesday.

 Choudhury, besides being entrusted with review and look into the progress of NRC update works, has also been given charge of Dhubri district as prahari (in-charge) of the most backward district.

A district-level high official meeting was chaired by Choudhury in presence of Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Ant Lal Gyani. Addressing the meeting, Choudhury spoke on expediting ongoing development works and completing them within stipulated time with available resources and innovation.

 “Identify the area and what needs to be done in the district for all round socio-economic development, and prepare power-point immediately, so that projects can be taken up on time,” Choudhury said. In another meeting, Choudhury reviewed the progress of NRC update and interacted with officials engaged in verification of legacy-tree works.

 Choudhury also visited char (sandbars) areas of Dhubri district on Tuesday and chaired a meeting with the officials and instructed them to carry out development works therein, before concluding his two-day visit to Dhubri district.  Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Ant Lal Gyani, who accompanied with Commissioner during the visit to the sandbar area, was also remained present in all the meetings and briefed him about the NRC update works.
