Dibrugarh, Sept 11: As a part of its humanitarian activities, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), the largest petrochemical project, here at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh district, Assam has been extending support to the flood-affected people by distributing essential commodities as well aid to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
In its continuous endeavour, BCPL Workers’ Union with the support of Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh and Lezai Kolakhowa Anchalik Chatra Santha, organized a free health camp at Lejai Dighalia LP School on Sunday with a motive to extend medical services to the flood-affected people residing in the nearby villages.
Free health check-up and medical consultation on ophthalmology, Medicine, Dermatology, ENT and Pediatrics were provided among the villagers. Free medicines were also distributed among the needy patients. More than 300 villagers from nearby areas of Lezai Kolakhowa attended the health care camp.
The BCPL, in order to counter the post-flood diseases and cleanliness, also distributed Phenyl, bleaching powder, mosquito repellants and other essential commodities among the villagers. The initiative of BCPL was a great success as most of the people living in this interior village have no access to such medical facilities. The company will organize its next free health camp at Itakhuli Dihingthan High School under its corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on September 17.
