Beneficiaries receive financial aid under Atal Amrit Abhiyan

Dibrugarh, April 28: A total of 135 beneficiaries availed financial aid amounting to Rs 60.68 lakh under Atal Amrit Abhiyan (AAA) at an event held at the District Library on Saturday.
The event that was organized under the aegis of Dibrugarh District Health Committee and National Health Mission, was graced by MP, Rameshwar Teli. Addressing the gathering, Teli said that AAA had been largely instrumental in helping the underprivileged sections meet their treatment expenses. He added that through AAA, the State Government had ensured that no disadvantaged section remained deprived of healthcare.
He, at the same time, mentioned about the Ayushman Bharat Scheme of the Central Government, and asserted that the Centre was also driven by a similar sense of commitment towards the cause of the deprived sections of the society. Duliajan MLA Teras Gowala, in his speech, said that the State Government was very responsive to the needs of the less fortunate, and that AAA would be of great help to such people. DC, Laya Madduri, who was also present on the occasion, appealed to the Health Department to generate more awareness about AAA among the masses so that more people could avail benefits out of it. Among other dignitaries present were Joint Director of Health Department, Udayan Kumar Baruah and District Development Commissioner, Jadhav Saikia.
