BJP stages protest against Congress Government's ‘failure'

TAMULPUR, Oct 6: The Baksa District Committee of BJP today took out a massive protest rally here against the alleged failures of the ruling Congress Government in the state on all fronts. Over 400 party workers participated in the rally.

The party unit also organized a massive protest meeting at grijuli at BDO office complex. The party workers raised slogans against the Congress government in the state for alleged failure to properly utilize the fund.

Addressing the meeting Keshab Mallik, Baksa district BJP president said that the people of Assam have understood the politics of Congress.

“This time Congress can’t not hoodwink the people of the state by distributing yarn and blanket,” he said.

The Centre had provided enough funds, but the Congress government had failed to utilize them, the BJP leader alleged. Mallik also called upon the people to work for the party so that the BJP can come to power in 2016 in the state.

He also alleged that rampant corruption have taken place in the implementation of various flagship programmes like MGNREGA, AAY, and widow pension in the district.

The meeting was also addressed by grijuli unit BJP president Ramprasad Bastola, BJP Yuba Marcha leader Victor Das, MCLA Dharmarayan Das, Sabda Rabha and many others. The Baksa BJP also sent a memorandum to the Governor and Baksa DC.
