KOKRAJHAR, Feb 22: It is a matter of pride for the people of BTC in particular and the State as a whole that two young girls, Daisy Basumatary of Kokrajhar and yanmoni Basumatary of Mangaldai in Udalguri district, have been selected as fil contestants of Miss India to be held at Jaipur, Rajasthan in March. Both Daisy and yanmoni will represent Assam in the forthcoming Miss India contest.
The daughter of Subhash Basumatary and Minu Basumatary of Hadanpara (Ward No.8) in Kokrajhar town, Daisy was selected from the State in the audition along with yanmoni. Daisy is fitness teacher in Kokrajhar and is also associated with professiol modelling and fashion academy and also works at ‘Extreme Dancers’. Talking to reporters at her residence, Daisy Basumatary said she was selected in the audition held in Guwahati recently and will represent Assam along with two others in the Sriya Miss India Contest-2018 to be held in March last week at Jaipur in Rajasthan. She said she had interest in fashion and modelling since the age of 17 years and has big ambitions in fashion and modelling. She also said Sriya Miss India contest would be organized by Sriya Miss India Foundation.
Currently studying at Kokrajhar Government College in the last semester with English Major, Daisy has been working hard for bringing laurels to the State and the region. There will be nearly 50 contestants participating from different States in the country in the Sriya Miss India contest, 2018.
