Cab drivers plans to move court

SHILLONG, Oct 6: Hundreds of Local Taxi drivers and owners of the rural taxis (having green and white color) under the banner of the East Khasi Hills Local Taxi Welfare Association (EKHLTWA), have decided to move a Legal Representation to the Chairman of the Regiol Transport Authority (RTA) after the rural taxis were restricted to ply in the city today.

The decision was taken in a meeting held after the discussion with the SP Traffic yesterday to take this matter slowly since it is still under process fails to yield any result and the rural taxi were again not allow to ply in the city on Thursday.

According to an office bearer the association had earlier discussed this matter with the DTO who told them that the DC has asked the association to give this in writing after having their meeting.

“We will first write to the Chairman of the RTA and move court if this matter is not address,” he said.
