Dibrugarh, December 10: As per Central Government’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry, directives, cable TV service will be upgraded from Alog to Digital from January 1 , 2016.
In this regard, the GTPL –V&S Private Limited has geared up to provide digital viewing of Cable TV to the local viewers including those at Sibsagar, Tinsukia, Jorhat and Golaghat, from the midnight of December 31, 2015. The viewers will be able to view these digital channels through a Set Top Box, which has been declared to be mandatory for Cable TV viewing as alog services will no longer be available from December 31.
Under third phase of digitalization of Cable TV, Assam along with other States have been selected by the Central Government to be included in the list of Cable TV digitalization.
In this regard, the Maging Director of GTPL V&S Cable TV Pvt Limited, Sanjay Kumar Deb, has urged upon all the viewers of Cable TV to buy Set Top Boxes on or before December 31 for better cable services. The Set Top Boxes will be available at the office of local cable operators, from where the customers can collect the same before the specified date of December 31, as stated by Deb and other Directors of V&S Bajrang Todi, Anil Poddar, shimul Goni, and Abdul Razzak.
