Child burnt alive inside hotel

MANGALDAI, Jan 9: On Monday night in the Office Bazar area under Daipam Police Outpost in Darrang district, a child was burnt alive inside a hotel. The hotel owned by one Jabbar Ali  in the local market area somehow caught fire at midnight and the devastating fire almost turned the Assam-type building of the hotel into ashes before the locals and the team of  fire tenders from Kharupetia could bring the fire into control. Surprisingly, on Tuesday morning, police recovered a body of a child who is suspected to have burnt alive inside the hotel. Later, the victim was identified as Akhtar Hussain, a 12-year old child of village Baruajhar. The child had allegedly been engaged as a labourer by the hotel owner which is gross violation to the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. A case has been registered in this regard by police of Daipam police outpost following the necessary process for post mortem of the body.
