Bongaigaon, May 15: Under the project ‘Ashwas’ of Assam Police, fincial assistance of Rs 12,000 each were distributed to 35 child victims of commul and terrorist violence of Chirang district at a programme held the DC Office conference hall of Kalaigaon yesterday.
Attending the program as chief guest, BTAD IGP Dr L R Bisnoi elaborated about the project ‘Ashwas’ of Assam Police and its objectives for granting fincial assistance to the children rendered orphan in violence. He said the project is funded by the tiol Foundation for Commul Harmony and it seeks to assist the care and education of the affected children as well as promote non-violence and commul harmony in the society. He called upon the victim children and their guardians to properly utilize the assistance so that “it could help them become a responsible and respectable citizen of the country in future.” The program was presided over by the Chirang DC Rupak Kr Mazumdar and was attended by Chirang SP Ranjan Kr Bhuyan, ADC Dasarath Das, the beneficiaries and their family members.
