Itagar, July 23: Emphasizing on right projection of government informations both inside and outside the state, IPR and Planning Secretary Som Chombey on Wednesday called for a holistic plan for effective implementation of outreach programme in the state. Addressing a consultative committee meeting on ‘Initiative Goal’ chaired by IPR Parliamentary Secretary Bamang Felix here, Chombey said that a holistic plan with three basic components of ‘Outreach, Advocacy, and Leverage’ is required to be laid out for an effective outreach programme.
An action plan for a holistic outreach programme was drawn out during the meeting, an official communiqué informed.
Outlining the objective of the meeting, Chombey pointed out that the lack of understanding and communication gap among various government agencies for which adequate information of both state and central government projects do not percolate down to the grassroots level.
He informed that because of dymic ture of societies, alignment and realignment of various social groups keep developing from time to time, it is important for the government to update right information to the public. To study various existing erroneous information on these issues, a Consultative Committee under the chairmanship of IPR Director C M Longphong was formed with four other members, the communiqué informed. Terms of reference of the committee’s function would be to check erroneous data and information in various existing government websites and help provide proper information to all. Those who hoist erroneous information in their websites would be asked to suspend their particular pages for a while until they were corrected. Meanwhile, the IPR department was also entrusted with the task of developing an ‘Initiative Goal Logo’ by involving experts for iuguration of the logo on August 15 next.
Chombey also asked the department to frame guidelines for incentives to film-makers of the state which was announced during the budget session. Felix advised the officers to expedite their assigned tasks and completed within the stipulated time, the communiqué added.
