Silchar, June 23: garik Swartharaksha Sangram Parishad (NSSP) in association with Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) will organize a joint meeting on June 27 in the premises of Gandhi Bhawan of the town to discuss the issue of garbage disposal and waste magement. The 6-hour meet will focus on their scientific method of disposal, keeping in view the hygienic aspect of the issue. GPS Renewables, Bangaluru, will demonstrate before the assembly how bio methane gas can be generated from biodegradable wastes.

Biogas can be used as a source of fuel for the purpose of cooking food. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste. It is a renewable energy source and in many cases exerts a very small carbon footprint. Biogas can be compressed, the same way tural gas is compressed to CNG, and used to power motor vehicles. It qualifies for renewable energy subsidies in some parts of the world. Biogas can be cleaned and upgraded to tural gas standards, when it becomes bio methane.

Dutta further said that it is in the interest of the people to know about proper garbage disposal. He requested the people of the town to take part in the event to make it a success and keep the city and everybody’s area neat and clean. It will be the responsibility of every Indian to become a part of ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’, the only way to contribute our own mite towards the novel movement initiated by Prime Minister rendra Modi.
