JOYSAGAR, Oct 11: To mourn the demise of social worker and sports persolity Niren Das (51) of Doikolongia Gaon under Sivasagar Municipal Board, ward no-4, Bipani Sangeet Maha Bidyalaya organized a condolence meeting on Wednesday in the office of the Sangeet Mahavidyalaya situated in Thamukh area of Sivasagar town.
The meeting was presided over by jourlist Ratul Das. Speaking at the meeting, Sivasagar Municipal Board chairperson M. Sinha in her speech as chief guest said that Niren Das was a hard-working Junior Engineer in the board. Besides, he showed his excellence in the field of sports and other social works.
Earthen lamp was lit in front of his portrait by Ward No-4 commissioner Hemanta Das. Hundreds of local people took part in the meeting.
