Crack in Shillong music band Plague Throat

SHILLONG, May 8: Shillong pioneer death metal band Plague Throat (PT) has parted ways with bassist Iaidon Jyrwa. In a post on Facebook ‘PT’ wrote, “We have regretful news for our fans. We are saddened to inform that our ‘bass’ player Iaidon will be parting ways with the band because of some persol reasons.”

According to the post, the band will soon be completing the recording of their music album to be released later this year.

Speaking to The Sentinel over phone, ‘PT’ guitarist ngsang Lyngwa said, “There was no other option to take and split was for the best interest of the band.” When asked about the reason behind the split, Lyngwa was reluctant to comment.  He only said that it was all due to persol reason.

Plague Throat is a popular 3-Piece ‘Death Metal’ band from Shillong. The band is also the first ever band from the North East region to represent India in one of the biggest music festival known as the ‘Wacken Open Air’ which is being organized every year in Germany.

 ‘PT’ is one of the pioneering bands to start playing ‘Death Metal’ music in Shillong including other bands like ‘Project Blend’ and ‘Undead.’

Iaidon Jyrwa is amongst the finest bass players in the state and he has been involved in various concerts with the band and he also played a role in the release of the bands EP, which sold like hot cakes in the market. The band Plague Throat was formed in 2006 and their first ever gig was in August 2008 at the ‘Powerplay’ concert. The band has maged to release many songs since then including ‘An Exordium to Contagion’ and ‘Dominion Breach.’
