Itagar, April 1: Stating that no development is possible sans peace, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today called for creating a peaceful atmosphere in Aruchal Pradesh so that fruits of development percolate down to every nook and corner of the state.
“NDA’s mantra for North East is ‘peace and development’ and we are trying to make the region a secured and developed place so that it could compete with other developed parts of the country,” the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs said during a function here to formally launch commencement of fil location survey of three strategic railway lines in the state. “Our responsibility is to support outsiders who visit the state for execution of various developmental projects. If they feel insecure they will leave the state without completing the projects and in the process development will suffer,” he said and called upon the people to contribute for development.
Rijiju said, the state government alone cannot bring development but all stakeholders should join hands for it. Taking a dig at the previous regime at the Centre, the minister said that the NDA government in a departure from the past is serious and framing holistic policies for development of Aruchal Pradesh. “The proposed three broad gauge lines will change the economy of the state once they are completed,” he said and called for proper execution of all developmental schemes without compromising on quality.
