DIMORIA, June 19: A pall of gloom descended at Maloibari under Khetri police station today following the death of Apurba Deka, a CRPF Cobra Regiment jawan posted at Aurangabad in Bihar, on Maoist attack. Deka hailed from Maloibari.
According to a source from Cobra Regiment, five Maoists were killed by the Regiment. On their way back, the jawans came under IED attack of the Maoists. The body of the jawan will be flown to Guwahati tomorrow. Meanwhile, Chief Minister SarbandaSonowal expressed condolences on the untimely death of ApurbaDeka, a CRPF jawan who was killed in Jharkhand. In a statement here on Sunday evening, Sonowal said, "The death of ApurbaDeka is great loss to our society. I am particularly saddened by his sudden death who till the last minute of his killing rendered his services valiantly. I express my profound condolences and deepest sympathy for the bereaved family members". It may be mentioned that ApurbaDeka hailed from Maloibari village in Sopur in the newly curved out East Kamrup District.
