Discussion on development of Assam

 Guwahati, April 4: A roundtable discussion on ‘Development Agenda of Assam’ in association with Guwahati University was held as a part of the ongoing Rongali Festival today. Twenty five persolities from various fields – economy, politics, sports, culture, academics, business, media etc. deliberated on the topic. The deliberations would be documented in the form of a book and would be released later. Folk dances, magic shows, a Book ‘Adda’, a food ‘Adda’ enthralled the audience throughout the day. The cultural evening was dedicated to Late Indra Bania where Mas Robin, Simanta Sekhar, Priyanka Bharali, Moo & the Shooting Stars performed. A fashion show was also organized where designers like Dhiraj Deka, Megh Rai Medhi showcased their collection. With an aim to position Assam as a tourism destition, showcasing its ethnic culture and unmatched beauty, Rongali – Celebrating the essence of Assam is being held at Guwahati from April 3. The festival would highlight the rich culture of the State and the tourism opportunity that Assam presents.
