SHILLONG, April 18: The Eastern Air Command (EAC) has categorically refuted the allegations that the state government has tactfully tried to hand over a stretch of land to the Command headquarters. The EAC said that the apprehension is ‘absolutely baseless’. Group Captain Mahajan and spokesperson of the EAC said on Saturday: “Firstly the land in question is a very small area of government land contiguous to the Eastern Air Command wherein the overflow of the Malse Dam runs through a small channel during the rainy season. The area between the channel and the Air Force wall is not being utilized by the Animal Husbandry Department as it is iccessible to them. EAC is protecting the catchment area better than anyone else and ensures the conservation of local flora and fau,” spokesperson of the EAC Group Captain Mahajan said.
