KOKRAJHAR, July 26: A fake birth certificate meant for NRC was detected by Balagaon Block Public Health Centre, Kokrajhar that bears fake sigture and seal. The PHC was compelled to lodge FIR at Kokrajhar police station for intimation and inquiry over such fake certificates. The block PHC also demanded constables in the office to control the crowd every day. A fake birth certificate was sent to this correspondent that bore sigture and seal which did not match with the issuing authority. The fake birth certificate of one Akibul Islam of Bhadeyaguri allegedly shows that he was born on December 18, 2006 with registration no 1449 and his certificate was detected by the authority concerned, proves that most mes are counterfeit for NRC. The gaonbura of the village Md. Eman Ali and gaonbura of Somoypara Md. Hekmot Ali revealed before the PHC officials that there were many such manipulations in the birth certificate. They said there could be more such fake certificates. Meanwhile, people in various parts of the district alleged that the doctors and other officials in the health centres were taking money for sigture in the birth certificate. Such complaints have also been received from Dotma PHC where people from poor economic background have been compelled to pay money ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 500.
