JOYSAGAR, Feb 15: The vice-chairperson of Amguri Municipal Board of Sivasagar district lodged an FIR against employees of the municipal boards. As per reports received, the Tax Daruga of the board and the accountant of the same office had allegedly collected about Rs 3.15 lakh from the citizens of Amguri town as municipal tax but they did not deposit the amount in the board’s bank account. Filly, the vice-chairperson of Amguri Municipal Board, Meera Baruah decided to take the help of the law and following this, she lodged an FIR against the two employees in Amguri PS. A case has been registered 173/16 under 420/409 IPC and now police have started investigation into the alleged anomalies.
