Former AJYCP leader Tapan Sarmah Baruah’s demise condoled

Dibrugarh, Dec 19: The former vice-president of Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chattra Parishad (JYCP), an ardent Jatiyatabadi leader and social activist, Tapan Sarmah Baruah, breathed his last at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) on Sunday morning after suffering from a severe heart attack. He was 55.

The death of the former Jatiyatabadi leader has been mourned by the people of the Dibrugarh. Social activist Tapan Sarmah Baruah was the  former adviser of Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (JYCP ) and the vice-president of Asom Ga Sangram Parishad (GSP) and for quite some time  was even working as a jourlist from Dibrugarh. Besides being actively involved with  various organizations and institutions, Baruah also made his foray into politics as he contested the  Dibrugarh LAC seat as a candidate of AGSP.

Several leaders like central general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (JYP) , Udayan Kumar Gogoi ; district committee president and secretary of JYCP, Ranjit Das and Homen Borgohain respectively, and former general secretary of JYCP, Ajay Bhuyan paid their deep condolences.

Moreover, members of the district media fraternity like the  adviser of All Assam Jourlists Union (AAJU), Ikbal Ahmed ; secretary of Dibrugarh District Jourlist Association (DDJA), Ratan Hazarika ; president and secretary of Greater Dibrugarh Press Club (GDPC), Bhushanjyoti Handique and Ratul Gohain respectively ; secretary of Dibrugarh Press Club (DPC) , Mashjyoti Dutta ; president and secretary of Dibrugarh Electronic Media Forum (DEMF), Anil Poddar and Surak Dutta respectively, Lahoal MLA Ritupar Baruah and members of District AGP and BJP Town Committee too offered their heartfelt condolences to Tapan Sarmah Baruah. He is survived by his wife, son, two daughters and relatives.
