Haflong, April 11: On a two-day visit, Assam Governor Prof Jagadish Mukhi arrived here at Haflong on Wednesday. He held meeting with the security agencies at the Circuit House where the media was not allowed. This was followed by a meeting with the heads of the different departments, perhaps on the development issues. Here also the media was not allowed for the reasons best known to the authority concerned. People of Dima Hasao wondered what secret policies on development activities were discussed in the meeting that had to be kept hidden from media persons who were officially invited to give wide coverage of the two-day visit of the Governor in Dima Hasao.
The Governor then met the representatives of various social, religious, political organizations of Dima Hasao wherein almost all the organizations submitted memoranda on several issues pertaining to the development of Dima Hasao. The Governor visited the office of the N C Hills Autonomous Council and held a meeting with the Chief Executive Member, Executive Members and other members of the council.
