Guwahati unveils FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy, host city logo

GUWAHATI, Aug 26: Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today launched the Guwahati Host City Logo, a venue of one of the semi-fils of the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017. In the same function he also unveiled the display of U-17 World Cup trophy which will be awarded to the winning team in Kolkata after the fil. 
 Guwahati’s Host City Logo blends the components and sentiments relevant to the people from the region and complements the current FIFA U-17 World Cup Official Emblem.  
Speaking on the milestone occasion at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sonowal said, “This is a big occasion for us, especially for the young population here, to be a venue for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. I am happy to unveil the Winner’s Trophy because this particular World Cup will inspire the youngsters to play football, at a world stage”. 
Tomorrow, the Official Trophy will be present at Judge’s Field for a Mission XI Million festival in the morning and for public viewing from 11 am onwards. 
Talking about the Guwahati Host City Logo, Tourment Director, LOC, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, Javier Ceppi, who also attended the function, said, “We are very happy to launch the Guwahati Host City Logo. The State Government has been very supportive of the World Cup from the beginning and once again, they have reiterated that through the Host City Logo, they will further promote the Tourment in Assam and the rest of the north-east”. 
He also added: “Crowed responses in the tickets sale for Guwahati venue once again takes sharp rise. During my earlier visit I told all of you that Guwahati fall little behind on ticket sale in the third phase. However the local crowed made good response thereafter. I was checking the number of unsold tickets of Guwahati venue this morning and found that just around 200 tickets for the semi fil tie are left. So we are expecting full house during all nine matches that Guwahati will host during the competition.  
 Also present for the momentous event were ba Kumar Doley, Sports Minister of Assam; Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner and Secy, Sports Department, Government of Assam, HN Brahma, President of Assam Football Association, And Prakash Tiwary, Nodal officer of Guwahati venue, Queen Oja, Vice Chairman of Sports Authority of Assam and Lakhya Konwar, the member secretary of the State Level Advisory committee for Student and Youth Welfare.
Meanwhile an unpleasant scene was created when the function was about to start as Assam Football Association secretary Ankur Dutta and Javier Ceppi, Tourment Director, LOC, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 were engaged in an altercation. It was learnt that Ceppi was upset following a few negative comments from Dutta on the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in local media. Ceppi felt that have its adverse impact on the tourment. Dutta, however, later informed the media that the allegation brought against him was baseless.
