KPC and IPR, BTC observe tiol Press Day

KOKRAJHAR, November 17: Along with the rest of the country, the tiol Press Day was celebrated at Bodofa Cultural complex here in Kokrajhar with a three-day programme which was concluded on Tuesday.

Organized jointly by the Information and Public Relations department, BTC in collaboration with Kokrajhar Press Club (KPC), over 150 media persons from various parts of BTC region participated in the programme. The organizatiol flag was hoisted by the respective press club members of the four districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri, followed by homage to martyrs by Gagan rzary, District Information and Public Relations officer, Chirang.

Later, the grand celebration of tiol Press Day was held which was chaired by Council Head of Department, Information and Public Relations, Ansuma Mohilary. BTC Executive Members -Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Brahma attended the programme and interacted with the media persons. Earlier, annual mouth piece of Kokrajhar Press Club The Bodoland Herald was released by BTC Executive Member Doneswar Goyary.

On November 15, an open discussion with the BTC leadership, jourlists and officials on the topics necessity of relationship between the government and media in maintaining peace, harmony and all-round development of BTC, forest mece, magement and media’s role in conservation of ture, mechanism to curb social evil to uplift human resources in BTC and facilities of jourlists, grievances and government initiatives were held where deputy chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyary, BTC Executive Members Doneswar Goyary, Mritunjay rzary and Rajib Brahma participated and interacted with the media persons.

A social awareness programme was also carried out in remote places of Bismuri and Dhopguri under the aegis of Kokrajhar Press Club.
