LAKHIMPUR, March 11: Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra, a social organization of Lakhimpur, dedicated to work for the uplift of humanity, ture, language and culture, education and health, has taken up a series of colourful, long-term programmes entitled as ‘Mangalmoy Xahitya Yatra’ with a view to work for the enhancement of culture and literature.
The organization is all set to kick-off the programmes at Majuli College of the island district on April 7. Paramanda Rajbonshi, the president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, will participate in the event as the chief guest. The Xahitya Jyoti and Kotha Baibhav Award already declared by tun Sur Prakashan Parishad will be distributed in the programme. tun Sur Prakashan Parishad has declared to confer the Xahitya Jyoti Award-2018 to poet Pray Phukan and writer Bharat Rajkhowa and Katha Baibhav Award to writer-jourlist Robin Bhuyan.
On the other hand, Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra has decided to confer a new award entitled as ‘Grantha Sumangal’ to Dipak Borah, who has been single-handedly preserving various souvenirs and old magazines for a long period. The organization will confer another award med ‘Shilpi Jangam’ to artist Paresh Bhuyan who is endeavoring to take art to the mass and create awareness among them through ‘Bator Canvas’ to appreciate aesthetic beauty. Both of them will also be honoured in the same programme.
Jiten Baruah, the Director of Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra, and associate secretary Dr Saurabh Baruah informed that the title song of the organization, being recorded under the direction of Mridul Baruah, would be released in the iugural event of the Mangalmoy Xahitya Yatra on the same day.
