Itagar, January 6: Rajya Sabha member Mukut Mithi has adopted Mayu–II gram panchayat segment under Roing assembly constituency as a model panchayat segment (village) under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yoja Scheme.
As per the scheme, each MP will adopt a village and nurture it under his/her guidance to develop it into a model village in terms of health, cleanliness, greenery and cordiality to serve as demonstration villages for the surrounding areas to learn and replicate these efforts.
DC Shiv Kumar along with M Dirchi, District Planning Officer and heads of various line departments accompany him and visited the village and interact with the panchayat members and villagers at Rekoh, Keraah villages, an official communiqué informed.
The DC informed that the base line survey of the adopted gram panchayat segment would be conducted within this week.
Dirchi highlighted the villagers about the SAGY scheme and asked for their cooperation and participation for successful implementation of the scheme in the village, the communiqué added.
