Mohilary distributes engagement letters to TET qualified teachers

KOKRAJHAR, May 7: The chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary on Sunday ceremonially distributed engagement letters to 1,134 TET qualified teachers at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar in presence of deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary and other higher officials of the Education department of the council.

BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, while speaking on the occasion, said the council had been giving priority towards education for improvement of the education sector. He said to inspire the meritorious students, the council had extended support to the students who were getting admission in higher educatiol institutions. The council facilitated Rs. 2 lakh to the students getting admission in IIT, IIM and MBBS, Rs 3 lakh for students pursuing UPAC, Rs. 1 lakh each to the students who are getting admission in NIT, dental and pursuing Ph.D. degree, he said, adding that the teachers should dedicate themselves for the interest of the students. He also said the teachers must keep themselves away from active politics and stay away from involvement with political parties.

Talking to reporters, the deputy chief of the council, Kampa Borgoyary said the department of education today distributed engagement letters to 1,134 teachers who had cleared TET. He said the council pursued the Government of India for filling up the vacant posts in the council region with certain relaxation for the teachers who had not cleared Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course. He said the engagement letters were given under the SSA and teachers should be sent to the schools where there were lack of teachers. He also cautioned that action would be taken against those teachers who were looking for suitable schools of their choice by unfair means. The officials who were involved in such dealings would also be dealt with, he warned.

The engagement letter distribution programme was also attended by the EM of BTC, Doneswar Goyary, Rajiv Brahma and Mritunjay rzary and Director of Education, Rabi Sankar Borgoyary.
