Mohilary iugurates Bodoland House in Kolkata

KOKRAJHAR, February 4: In another landmark achievement, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Wednesday ceremonially iugurated the 12–storey Bodoland House located at Rajarhat, New Town in the heart of Kolkata city in West Bengal, which was constructed at around Rs 55.33 crore.

The BTC purchased a plot of land measuring 1.008 acres (4047.32 sq m) at Rajarhat. The BTC already has Bodoland House and Bodoland Bhavan in New Delhi, Bodoland Guest House and Bhavan in Guwahati and Guest House–cum–Cultural Centre at Siliguri (West Bengal) and Bodolang Guest House at Kokrajhar. Besides, the council has been looking for suitable place in Cheni and other important cities of India.

The construction of Bodoland House in Kolkata is to provide a platform in West Bengal where people of Bodoland will gather experience, knowledge in different wings. Besides they can avail opportunities for education, medical treatment and other official purposes. The people can involve them in small scale industries on receiving technical knowledge from a metro like Kolkata, besides making themselves developed in the line of agriculture, sewerage and water and rain water harvesting and also promote and develop the cultural activities of the Northeast. The iugural programme was also attended by MLAs Pradip Kr. Brahma, Emmanuel Mashahary, Majen rzary, Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyary, EMs Reo Reoa rzihary, Robin Bala Biswas, Principal Secretary Anupam Roy and MCLAs and other guests.
