Moti Mahal Tandoori trail opens in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, June 10: Moti Mahal Delux fine dining restaurant and lounge bar was launched today at Spanish Garden, opposite Zoo in Guwahati amid much fanfare. The facility was iugurated by Anika Shivam, a nine year old child and a student of class V in the presence of popular actress Nishita Goswami. A host of other dignitaries including renowned food critics were present at the event. The franchisee owner Parthapratim Phukan expressed satisfaction in partnering with the best known brand for Indian cuisine and on getting the opportunity to introduce fine dining experience of Moti Mahal to the city of Guwahati. Well known food critics participated at the launch and relished various sigture dishes of Moti Mahal.

Recently established Alchemy Foods and Beverages Company is the franchisee who owns the Moti Mahal Delux restaurant at Spanish Garden. Its proprietor Parthapratim Phukan is a young entrepreneur who gave up his successful corporate career of 14 years with global MNCs and returned to his home land Assam 6 years ago to start his new journey as an entrepreneur. He has successfully started and commissioned Real Estate projects and now with his introduction of Moti Mahal Delux fine dining restaurant and lounge at Guwahati, it is his first foray in the food and beverages business.

It all started in the year 1920 in Peshawar now in Pakistan where a young man med Kundan Lal Gujral dug a tandoor right in the middle of an eatery. Thus was born the first tandoor at an eatery and so was also the first Moti Mahal restaurant. This is where Kundan Lal invented the Tandoori Chicken and the Butter Chicken. Cut to 1947, when the city of Delhi was reeling under the refugee crisis as millions of dispossessed streamed into Delhi from Pakistan, young Kundan Lal, with all his culiry skills, set up shop in Delhi, post partition. Today, the third generation has taken the brand pan India. The Moti Mahal brand contributed significantly to putting India on the food map of the world. The Tandoori Chicken has become the draw card for Indian tourism. tiol and world leaders like pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, former President Zakir Hussain, Zulfiker Ali Bhutto of Pakistan, former American Presidents Nixon and Kennedy, the Shah of Iran etc have visited Moti Mahal to sample the Tandoori delicacies on various occasions.

Now, Moti Mahal Tandoori Trail at Spanish Garden introduces the Tandoori Mix Grill and host of other sigture dishes such as Afghani Chicken, Chicken Malai Tikka, Tandoori Aloo, Paneer Butter Masala and many more.
