NEHRO demands report on suspected militant attack

Itanagar, April 22: Informing that a person was grievously injured during a suspected militant attack at Dirak in Namsai on March 26 last, the Arunachal Pradesh unit of the North East Human Rights Organization (NEHRO) has demanded the Home department to come out with a concrete report on the incident. Ganesh Telenga (25), a resident of Kathalguri in Lekang circle of the district, received grievous bullet injury during the suspected militant attack, NEHRO's State unit general secretary Buteng Tayeng said.

"A pellet was reportedly removed from his left leg during an operation which he underwent at the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh," said Tayeng.

He appealed to the State government to bear the medical expenses of the injured person on humanitarian ground.

When contacted, the Mahadevpur police station OC confirmed the incident.
