SHILLONG, Aug 16: NEIGRIHMS along with other parts of the country celebrated the 71st Independence Day of the country. Director, Dean, Dy. Director, Medical Superintendent, faculty, paramedical staff and ministerial staff of the Institute participated in the event. The flag was hoisted by Director, NEIGRIHMS D.M Thappa at 8.15 am in the lawns of the Hospital. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Thappa conveyed to the audience his Vision for NEIGRIHMS. He assured to have a grievance redressed mechanism very soon for faculty and other staff so that their genuine issues are addressed in a time bound manner. He said, “Many infrastructure development plans are under way to expand the existing facilities of the Hospital. The Medical college building with 100 student intake capacity shall be ready by oct.2019 and after that the existing building can be decongested by shifting some sections to the new building.”
