Haflong, Jan 24: The 120th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was observed throughout the district of Dima Hasao on Monday in a befitting manner with great enthusiasm.
At Haflong, Bengali Students’ Union, Koshish (NGO) and Nikhil Bharatiya Banga Sahitya Sammelan organized a motor rally with the beautifully decorated portrait of Netaji which started from Cultural Institute Hall and marched through Haflong township went up to Lower Haflong, then again converged at Cultural Institute Hall wherein people belonging to various communities took part.
Several speakers dwelt at length on the life of Netaji along with his sacrifice for the tion, and appealed to the young generation to follow Netaji’s ideology for the development of the tion.
At Mahur too, the day was observed through various day-long programmes, including a spectacular procession which marched through the Mahur township.
