Nikhil Choudhury and Jakir Hussain ranks top in BCC Golf Trophy

JORHAT, Nov 04: For the first time to attract domestic and intertiol tourists and to boast Golf Tourism in the North Eastern Region, the Bengal Chambers of Commerce (BCC) with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organized a Golf Tourment which was held at the Kaziranga Golf Resort, Mohbondha, Jorhat.  The meet was attended by Suman Billa, joint secretary, department of Tourism, Government of India, Sukanya Bose from BCC among senior executives from B&A Limited, Assam Tea Brokers, like Jaydeep Baruah, Dhurbajyoti Duwara and  B K Mahanta.

Nikhil Choudhury was adjudged the overall best net player and Jakir Hussain as best gross. Other results: In ladies 0 to 30- Joyamoni Bharali (runners up), Rimjhim Gogoi (winner), Gents 17 to 24 – Bhupender Pal Singh (runners up) Amit Khemka (winner), Gents 10 to 16- Angshuman Gogoi (runners up) Col KS Uppal (winner) while in Gents 0 to 9 gesh Singh (winner), Gautam Barkakaty (runners up).

The tourism secretary Suman Billa during his address thanks various players coming from different states of India for making the tourment the grand success. Though it was organized for first time this year however it will be an annual event throughout the different golf courses across the state of Assam.
