ONGC Asian Junior Tennis in Jorhat from Oct 24

GUWAHATI, Oct 8: Aryan Zaveri and Riya Uboveja, both of India, will lead the challenge in the Boys and Girls Singles events respectively in the ONGC – Asian Juniors tennis championship.  The Asian Ranking Tourment of the Asian Tennis Federation for Boys and Girls in the 14 years age group will be organized by the Jorhat Tennis Club from October 24. Qualifying rounds will be held on October 22 and 23 respectively. The main Draw in singles will be of 32 players, of which 18 get direct entries based on their ranking, 8 will come from the qualifying round and 6 will get Wild Cards.  

Udit Gogoi, number one ranked in India who won title in the tiols in 12 years age group held at Mumbai in May, will lead a group of 14 players from Assam who will participate in the tourment. In the Girls Singles, good performance is expected from Kristi Boro, Kalpita Rajkhowa, Harshita Borah and Ishika Chakma who are in the Main Draw.
