Patowary launches mami Barak theme song

Silchar, Nov 14: The theme song of mami Barak which has been composed by music sensation Debojit Saha, was launched at Banga Bhawan, Silchar on Monday  by Minister of Transport Chandra Mohan Patowary. A large number of star as well as local singers have lent their voice. The lyric of the Bengali version of the theme song has been penned by Biswaraj Bhattacharjee, jourlist at Dainik Jugasankha and the Hindi version by Mumbai based Sandeep th. The video of the sing was well appreciated by the audience and received with thunderous claps. “Opposing a constructive and creative event like mami Barak is condemble. mami Barak is not for those people who try to find negativity in positive things. Those who are opposing mami Barak are actually opposing the growth and development of this Valley. BJP government has always thought for Barak Valley and Assam mami Barak is not only for the people of Barak, but for Assam also,” said Chandra Mohan Patowary who was addressing as the chief guest on the occasion of theme song launch.

 The historic moment came right at 8.15 pm when the chief guest Chandra Mohan Patowary along with other dignitaries launched the song by clicking on a button. “Be it Assam or Barak Valley, we have always been sidelined and pushed to the periphery. However, gone are those days, now Assam is the centre of Southeast Asia and not its periphery. The process of reopening of both gaon and Cachar Paper Mills has already begun. There is no need of any movement, protest and strike anymore. Prime Minister rendra Modi has focussed on ‘Act East Policy’ instead of pondering over ‘Look East Policy’. mami Barak is a festival to celebrate the culture and tradition of Barak Valley,” Patowary added to say.

 “Development of waterways will boast up the region’s economic condition. The days of flourishing business are coming very soon. Barak Valley is soon going to notice a sea change in all aspects. States like Maharashtra, Odissha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Cheni are flourishing just because of their geographical proximity to water bodies like seas and oceans. Waterway is the cheapest means of transport for trade and commerce. We should come forward; join hands and hearts to make mami Barak a grand success.  The festival will surely take Assam to the world stage. Arrangements are in full swing for the forthcoming Global Investors’ Meet,” said Patowary.

 Debojit Saha said, “I am grateful to all those who have helped me in composing the theme song. I am honoured that I was selected for composing the song.” Deputy Speaker of Assam Assembly MLA Dilip Kumar Paul advised people not to litter and throw garbage here and there. “People should help the administration to keep the city clean.” Among others who graced the occasion included Dr S Lakshman, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, Ashutosh Agnihotri, commissioner and secretary to the Government of Assam, Anda Prakash Tiwari, MD, ASTC, Niharendra rayan Thakur, chairperson of SMB and MLAs Aminul Haque Laskar, Mihir Kanti Shome and lyricist of the theme song Biswaraj Bhattacharjee.
