LAKHIMPUR, September 4 : The Podudomoni Mohamaya Aai than, located by the side of NH 15 at North Lakhimpur completed 64 years of its existence today.
Established in 1951, the Podumoni temple over the years has been regarded as a symbol of holy place not only for the people of Lakhimpur or for the people of Assam but also for the visitors from different parts of the country.
The temple is famous for the way of worshiping the goddess Podumoni and the ambience that provides ‘mental tranquility and peace’.
On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the temple, a cleanliness drive was launched followed by a procession. The procession was taken out to fetch water from Subansiri river to the temple.
Puja was also offered to the goddess on the occasion. Numerous visitors from different places visited the temple today to worship the goddess.
