Porcupine rescued

SIVASAGAR, Sept 20: Forest Department personnel of Sivasagar along with ture’s Beckon rescued a porcupine from Konwerpur area in Sivasagar district on Wednesday. On being tipped off by the office bearers of ture’s Beckon that a porcupine was sighted in Konwerpur, Forest Department personnel rushed to the place and found the porcupine weighing around 4 kg. They secured the porcupine and brought it to the Forest Office and a veteririan inspected its health. The porcupine will be released in reserve forests in Geleky, said forest officials.
