ITAGAR, Sept 7: The Aruchal Civil Society (ACS) has appealed Chief Minister Pema Khandu to protect and preserve the government assets in the state taking into consideration its importance. In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister on Tuesday, ACS Chairman Patey Tayum while highlighting various issues related to land encroachment in the state, particularly in the Capital Complex appealed him to stop allocating land against establishment of central institutions and administration offices. “Various incumbent DCs, DLRSOs and also the director of Land Magement Department has given allotment order to many of the local people despite of having an official order that no any officer or general public is allowed to process land allotment. If we scrutinize the allotment passbook, there you will find the kiths and kin of public representatives, officers, leaders of students union, NGOs and so on,” the ACS alleged adding that interestingly no legal action has taken against the officers or the illegal claimant till date. The society further appealed the state government to constitute a “Scrutiny Committee” to find out the irregularities and book the offenders under Aruchal Pradesh Unlawful Activity Prevention Act, 2011.
