Fifth biennial conference of KMSS in Golaghat concludes

GOLAGHAT Dhekial), April 2: A huge gathering was seen in the Tengani area at Bishnu Jyoti Samany Khetra in Golaghat district amidst continuous rain on Sunday.  Almost 30,000 activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS) arrived to take part in the various programmes of the fifth biennial conference of KMSS.

On the third day of the programme of the convention, a colourful cultural programme was held.  Later, an open session was held under the president ship of Bhasco D Saikia, president of KMSS. In this meeting, leaders of various organizations like AJYCP, TMPK, Tai Ahom Students’ Union, Tiwa Students’ Union, Karbi Students’ Union and Scheduled Caste Students’ Union attended.

Addressing the gathering, KMSS chief adviser Akhil Gogoi said that Delhi’s policy of Hinduism had captured Assam due to which there was a threat to the Assamese culture, language and dignity.“The people of Assam should defeat the RSS to save Assam.  Otherwise, Assamese will face a dangerous situation in the coming days. It is the proper time to fight against the anti-Assamese activities of the BJP-led Central Government,” said Akhil Gogoi.

On the issue of NRC, Akhil Gogoi said if the Assam Government did not complete NRC updation immediately, one lakh KMSS activists with the help of people of Assam will stage demonstration in Guwahati very soon.

Speaking in the meeting, the secretary of AJYCP, Biraj Talukdar said that many leaders delivered various speeches and did politics over the sentiments of the Assamese people. He also reacted to T. Muivah comments and appealed to the rendra Modi-led BJP government not to do politics and give away the land rights and oil fields of Assam.
