Protest against Dhekiajuli MLA for ‘slapping’ BDO

DHEKIAJULI, September 7: A massive protest rally was brought out by different student bodies in Dhekiajuli on Wednesday against Dhekiajuli MLA Ashok Singhal who allegedly slapped the  Dhekiajuli BDO Wahidur Rahman in his office chamber on Tuesday.  On Tuesday morning Dhekiajuli MKA Ashok Singhal called Dhekiajuli BDO Wahidur Rahman to his office for some official purpose and later the MLA allegedly assaulted the BDO. On Wednesday,  members of  AASU, AMSU, Bengali Federation, Bhojpuri Students’ Union, Muslim Chhatra Parishad, Muslim Yuva Chhatra Parishad and Islamic Society brought out a protest march and started to move to the office of the MLA from Tamuli Road. But the protesters were stopped. Later, the activists burned the effigy of Ashok Singhal and shouted slogans.  The student bodies have given an ultimatum of 12 hours to arrest the MLA or they would continue their protest in a violent way.
