Protest continues over scrapping of South Kamrup district

Boko, October 14: Activists of Boko block, Chaygaon block and Goraimari block Congress committees on Friday protested against the cabinet’s decision to scrap South Kamrup district.

More than 2,000 activists took part in this protest rally. A meeting was also organized in front of Chaygaon Rajiv Bhavan at 11 am. After that, the activists blocked NH-37 for half an hour and submitted memorandum to the Assam Governor and Chief Minister through South Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Prakash Baruah. Boko LAC MLA ndita Das and Chaygaon LAC MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed also took part in this protest rally.
