Silchar, May 4: A 42 boggy goods train carrying 2550 tons of salt arrived, amidst firing, in Salchapra railway station on Saturday night which was unloaded on the following day. From the railway sources it has been learnt that the goods train had begun its journey from Chiros in Gujarat on April 23.

Due to the unloading of goods and queues of trucks for goods collections, the CC blocks could not be laid on the yard which has resulted in its deplorable condition. Sources from the NF Railway (Construction) have stated that necessary measures will be taken immediately for the laying of CC blocks. For this the goods trains services might be stopped for a few days, the sources added to say.
