Bongaigaon, Nov 4: The official launch of Save Tuniya Campaign, a campaign by a few youths of Bongaigaon to save the small river Tuniya from becoming a garbage dump, started on Saturday. Joudeep Chakraborty, founder of Save Tuniya Campaign, said that the campaign started with the sigture of famous ture worker of the district, son of the soil and the planter of the district, Buddheswar Ray, who has been planting trees since 2001. “He has single-handedly planted more than 15,000 trees on the major roads and highways passing through the city. Through this campaign a total of 10,000 sigtures will be collected and the same will be sent to the Prime Minister of India,” he said.
