SBI aid for various health centres and hospitals

Guwahati, Feb 24: State Bank of India, today distributed 50 wheelchairs and 50 stretcher trolleys to various health centres and hospitals of Guwahati City. This is an initiative undertaken by SBI to reinforce bank’s commitment towards boosting healthcare. A programme was organised by the Regiol Business Office, Guwahati Metro to felicitate 10 numbers of Government and non profit health centres and hospitals in Guwahati under its area of operation.

 Samir Kumar Sinha IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Health, Government of Assam handed over the doted items to the health centres and hospitals  viz  B Barooah Cancer Institute, MMC Hospital, Marwari Maternity Hospital, Red Cross Hospital, Ramakrish Mission Hospital, Azara 30 bedded Hospital, ESIC Hospital etc. PVSLN Murty, Chief General Mager, Gautam Bhattacharjee, General Mager and others also shared their good hand to dote the utility items to representatives of the donee organisations.

Addressing the gathering, Murty expressed that State Bank of India has always played a pivotal role as a socially responsive organisation in contributing towards numerous initiatives in social sector.  “This gesture is not categorised as normal CSR dotion, but a special initiative taken by the bank to reinforce the Government and charitable health sector,” he said. Similar kinds of activities are being adopted in other 18 regions of the bank throughout north east. The Chief Guest S K Sinha, IAS appreciated Murty and his team for taking such a noble initiative to boost up the heath sector in the state as well as North East. This was stated in a press release.
