Seven trafficked youths rescued, two held

MARGHERITA, April 15: As many as seven boys and girls belonging to Tea Garden community trafficked from a nearby tea estate here were rescued by GRP personnel at Margherita railway station in Tinsukia district on Friday. Two traffickers were arrested in this connection. The traffickers planned to sell the boys and girls, who are in their 20’s at a private company in New Delhi as bonded labour. According to reports, acting on a tip off that some boys girls were being trafficked to New Delhi by a mail train, the GRP personnel conducted an extensive checking and rescued the boys and girls along with a boy and caught the two agents, who planned to travel with them. The two Agents were identified as Mohammed Sahajada alias Raja and Seema Rai both hails from Katihar district of Bihar.
