Tezpur, Oct 11: On Tuesday night, a team of forest officials of Balipara Forest Reserve under Chariduar Police Outpost in Sonitpur district conducted an operation and maged to recover smuggled timber worth Rs 3 lakh. According to sources, while the timber logs were being brought from Tipi in Aruchal Pradesh towards Tezpur by in a truck bearing no.AH-27 C-2228, the forest officials intercepted the truck near Meat Supply at Balipara. Besides, two persons identified as Mun Pradhan and Rajesh Orang, were apprehended.
